I support using 2A funds for the Mad Rabbit Trails project, pending approval from the U.S. Forest Service. This aligns with voter-approved 2A funds, which have already shown significant trail system improvements, such as Morning Gloria on Emerald and Flash of Gold on Buff Pass. The Forest Service has spent six years collaborating with stakeholders and making necessary adjustments to the Mad Rabbit project, including a reduction in the number of trails and seasonal closures. The recent release of the final environmental analysis and draft decision notice/finding of no significant impact demonstrates a balance between environmental concerns and recreational use, gaining my support of the Mad Rabbit Trails project.
